This is the 81st anniversary of the deaths of 4 priests, 34 Benedictine nuns of the Blessed Sacrament, 2 religious sisters, 12 orphans, and approximately 1,000 residents of Warsaw under the rubble of St. Casimir’s Church! On Sunday, August 31st, a Holy Mass was celebrated for those who died in the Warsaw Uprising and for the elevation to the altars of \u00a0Sister Maria Tomea and her companions<\/a> \u2013 the Benedictine Nuns of the Blessed Sacrament, who suffered martyrdom during the Warsaw Uprising, having previously voluntarily offered their lives to God for the city, homeland, and the world \u2013 was concelebrated by: our chaplain – Father Andrzej Tulej, Father Robert Ogrodnik, who delivered the homily, Father Adam Petakiewicz – pastor of our parish, Father Roman Batorski, pastor of the S\u0142ubice parish, where Sister Katarzyna Ku\u017ami\u0144ska came from; Father Mariusz Mazurkiewicz, CSsR, vicar of the Provincial; and Father Kazimierz Kurek, SDB.<\/p>\n

The anniversary celebrations were graced by the presence of representatives of the Riflemen\u2019s Brotherhood.<\/p>\n

The ceremony concluded with a communal prayer in the church crypt and a meeting with light refreshments in the room behind the sacristy.<\/p>\n
