Holy Mass for the elevation to the altars of Sister Maria Tomea and companions of martyrdom

26 January 2025 By mniszki

The first of the monthly Masses for the elevation to the altars of Sister Maria Tomea and her companions – Benedictine nuns of the Blessed Sacrament, who suffered martyrdom during the Warsaw Uprising, having previously voluntarily offered their lives to God for the city, homeland and the world – was concelebrated by:
– Fr. Dr. Andrzej Tulej, lecturer at the Catholic Academy in Warsaw, consultant of the Council for Ecumenism of the Polish Episcopal Conference, delegate for dialogue with Judaism and ecumenism and religious contacts of the Warsaw Archdiocese, our chaplain,
– Fr. Adam Petakiewicz, dean of the Old Town deanery and parish priest of our parish,
– Fr. Dr. Robert Ogrodnik, vice-president of the Cultura Memoriae Foundation, chaplain of the Ravensbrück Family, employee of the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of National Remembrance.

The ceremony was graced with the colourful presence of representatives of the Riflemen’s Brotherhood.
