On Saturday, June 20, 2026, another Mechtildian retreat was held for the oblates of our monastery. This time, we reflected on the theme of practicing the presence of God, focusing on the writings of Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection and Mother Mechtilde, who have much in common—above all, they lived during the same period, were neighbors in Parisian monasteries, and wrote similarly about spiritual practices.
We also took a virtual tour following in the footsteps of Mother Mechtilde in Paris and the local monasteries of our Institute. The highlights of the day were: morning Mass, silent adoration together, and the Liturgy of the Hours with the sisters. In the afternoon, for the first time, we formed sharing groups and reflected together on a specific text by Mother Mechtilde. The experiment was a success and very fruitful. It was good to be together!
